How to Write a Web Page for Tigerden

Tigerden has put up this Web server for -- well, for the fun of it.

Anyway, the server is available to any and all users of Tigerden to put home pages up on. To do this, you'll need to create a new directory in your account called "web", and to write at least one file in HTML, the Web mark-up language. There was a really good Beginner's Guide to HTML at NCSA.

You'll want a home page file, and you can make other files that that file links to. The home page is traditionally called "index.html", and goes in your new "web" directory. You can also compose the HTML page(s) on your own computer, and then upload them to your 'web' directory using FTP. Once you've got it in place, tell Tigerwolf or Tzoq and it'll be added to the Tigerden user index page.

Tigerden has adopted a "house style" for its Web pages. You don't have to adhere to it, but you can if you like, and you can make use of the skeleton document and icons already created for it.

If you have any questions, you can mail Tigerwolf at tigerwolf@tigerden.com.
